You know the photos I’m talking about. Those well composed shots of all of the wedding day details with rings, shoes, velvet boxes, invitations, flowers, ribbon, etc. So what do you need to make sure you have on the wedding day so you can get those beautiful photos, too?
Here’s the ultimate list of all the elements you need for gorgeous wedding detail photos:
- An extra set of invitations and save the date card (complete with all accessories like your envelopes, wax seals, ribbon, belly bands, etc.)
- Both sets of rings
- Shoes from both partners
- Jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hair pins – bonus points if they are heirloom pieces)
- Decorative ring box
- Decorative ribbon matching your wedding color palette (I prefer using cotton, chiffon, or velvet ribbons)
- Florals (add on a set of styling florals to your florists quote)
- Vow books
- Signature outfit accessories (veil, gloves, fun socks, cufflinks, tie, pocket square, etc.)
- Perfume/cologne
- Favors or escort card display items
- Heirloom items (heirloom jewelry, champagne glasses, etc.)
- Objects of sentimental significance (photo of a passed loved one, an item from a first date, etc.)
- Handwritten notes (from your fiancé/fiancée to you and vice versa)
- Decorative stamps
- Dishes/trays/mirrors
Now that you have all of those purchased, collect them all and put them in one box together, or even better, your the box from your wedding shoes! Label the box “Detail Photos” and put it with your personal items in your getting ready suite.
On your final details call with your planner and your photographer, let them know you have all of your details ready to go and where they can find the collection of details when they arrive at the venue. Your planner and photographer will make sure to add an extra 30 minutes or so into your photography timeline so there is no rush on creating these magical photos!
