There’s no better time than spring in Central Texas to get married! Plan On It Events & Design couple Courtney and Kelly knew just that, and set out to plan a wedding celebration with one priority in mind – their guests. They wanted their big day to be full of fun with unique guest experiences, a creative catering style, and custom personalized details to show their friends & family a good time.
Guest Experiences
What’s the number one way to make sure your guests enjoy your wedding day? Fun and surprising experiences of course! Courtney and Kelly got creative with how they wanted to surprise their guests with these elements on the wedding day by molding a common cocktail hour addition into a piece that fit their personality and style.
Meet the churro burros! “Beer burros”, as we call them in Austin, are donkeys rented to come onsite to your wedding and carry around beer to your guests during cocktail hour. Guests love interacting with these trained and sweet animals as they are managed by their handlers throughout the cocktail hour. Instead of parading around alcoholic beverages, our couple decided to have these fuzzy creatures deliver bags of mini churros to guests as a pre-dinner dessert! They went the extra mile on presentation by making signage specifically for the donkeys as well as adding floral collars. Guests were so surprised when these floral-adorned donkeys popped out from behind the mansion at cocktail hour. And how can we blame them – they are so cute!
Creative Catering
When choosing a caterer for your wedding you have a lot of choices to make that will impact the overall guest experience for the day. Instead of picking a standard Mexican food buffet, this couple put a twist on this traditional style of service by adding in interactive stations from the culinary team at Austin Catering. Their menu consisted of stuffed avocados, tacos, Mexican street corn, and a queso flameado bar – and let me tell you, it was good.
The team at Austin Catering did a phenomenal job serving and controlling the flow of guests to make for a quick and delightful dinner service.
Personalized Details
There are lots of ways to elevate your wedding by going the extra mile with your details. Courtney and Kelly went all the way in on personalized elements for the wedding day including detailed programs, wildflower seed packet favors and custom hand towels. Their wedding day fashion was nothing short of unique either – with the groom showing off a blue patterned suit and the bridesmaids dressed in coordinating floral patterned dresses. No detail went unnoticed on this gorgeous spring wedding day!
